Rebecca Black - Friday

She's the girl who went from nobody to notorious in one night - and a small sum of $2,000 and a youtube video was all it took. She's now even an instated approved article on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebecca_Black) Is she the ultimate proof that the internet is all that is needed to churn out a famous face or a celebrity? For instance are reality TV shows a thing of the past? Rebecca Black would seem to prove this point. She's now internationally known for simply having fun with her friends all because of the power of viral net videos. Though arguably more talented Justin Bieber and the Arctic Monkeys were products of the same internet phenomena. However this leaves us in the position that if anyone is silly/outrageous enough they'll be able to elevate themselves to a level of fame otherwise unachievable, is this really fair, and are you popular for all the wrong reasons?

Student Riots - sterotypes

As someone against the student protests of late it worries that me that students are now being stereotyped.

For years students have been blasted by the media as lazy, scroungers, tramps and a barrage of other negativities so much so it has become a common viewpoint of the general public.
